• Cauliflower Gratin

     

    Ingredients

    Sauce:

    2 tsp

    2 tsp

    1 tsp

    1/4 cup

    1/8 cup

     

    Topping:

    1/4 cup

    2 tbsp

     

    cauliflower

     

     

    corn starch mixed with 4 tsp water

    dried oregano

    dried thyme

    grated parmesan cheese

    melted butter or margarine

     

     

    bread crumbs

    melted butter or margarine

    Preparation

    1. Preheat oven to 350F

    2. Cut cauliflower into 1/2 inch wide steaks

    3. Cut cauliflower florets from the stems

    4. Place cauliflower florets in vegetable steamer

    5. Cut cauliflower stems into I inch pieces

    6. In a  pot of boiling water cook stems until soft

    7. Reserving the water that was used to boil the cauliflower stems place the stems in a blender

    8. Place the rest of the ingredients for sauce in blender along with 1 cup of reserved water and blend until smooth

    9. Steam cauliflower florets until almost cooked but still a little firm

    10. Place cauliflower florets in 6x8 baking dish pour sauce over top

    11. Combine topping mixture and sprinkle on top

    12. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes
