• Pear Pie



     4 cups

     1/3 cup

    sliced pears (about 5 pears)


    all-purpose flour

    Juice of ½ lemon

    plain low fat yogurt

    vanilla extract

    almond extract

     unbaked 9 inch pie shell



    all-purpose flour

    unsalted butter, melted

    brown sugar


     1. 1. In a large bowl toss pears with sugar, flour and lemon juice. Reserve 1 cup of pear mixture and set aside.

     2. In a small bowl combine yogurt, vanilla and almond extracts and add to pear mixture and fold gently to coat the pears.

     3. Pour pear mixture into pie shell

     4. Arrange reserved cup of pears in a fan shape on top

     5. Combine all ingredients for topping and sprinkle over pie

     6. Bake pie in 400 F oven for 10 minutes

     7. Reduce heat to 350 F and bake for another 45 minutes
